VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AT THE GRIMES STOREHOUSE
THANK YOU for your continued support as we look to the future together in serving the community.
Masks are optional for both volunteers and clients. They are only required if you are experiencing any COVID, cold or flu symptoms. We still require all volunteers and clients to sanitize their hands when entering the pantry.
** First time volunteers will get on-the-job training during their first day.
Shopping Volunteer - Will have direct contact with pantry clients and assist them with the selection of their groceries and packing them. Other tasks include stocking inventory, general food pantry clean up, taking out the trash and organization when time permits. We ask volunteers to arrive 10 minutes before the beginning of your volunteer shift.
Youth Volunteer (Ages 14 and up) - Help date and sort donations plus restocking shelves with inventory. You may also be asked to help a shopping volunteer with packing the food in the sack for the client. Youth can earn Silver Cord hours. We ask volunteers to arrive 10 minutes before the beginning of your volunteer shift.
Greeter/Carry Out - Starts January 1, 2023. Will have direct contact with the client at the front door. Welcome clients and add their name to the sign in sheet. Meet client at their vehicle if required. Take client's cart of food and load into their vehicle.
Receptionist - The Receptionist is responsible for updating the client's DMARC database records. DMARC database training is required and basic Excel knowledge recommended.
Food Courier – Pick up rescue food from our local business partners and deliver to the Grimes Storehouse before pantry opens.
Committees – We have openings for the following committees: Visioning, Operations, Communications, Events and Fundraising, Finance. If interested, please complete the Volunteer Information Sheet below and we will then contact you with details.
