Due to the recent COVID-19 concerns, we are temporarily suspending client choice services and will be pre-packaging food orders, effective immediately.
In addition, we will be implementing additional safety measures in our processes for collecting and distributing food in order to minimize risk of exposure and transfer of illness.
We will continue to monitor information from the health agencies along with guidance provided by the Food Bank of Iowa to ensure we’re taking the appropriate actions in order to keep our clients and volunteers as safe as possible.
Thank you for your patience during this time.

We are currently the only food pantry physically located within Grimes. The Grimes Storehouse’s challenge is to not only reduce or eliminate hunger but to also feed people’s hope and sense of purpose in their lives.
All food and services are provided free of charge to Grimes individuals/families who are in need of basic food and supplies. It is our goal to follow the teaching of Matthew 25:35-36: “ For I was hungry, and you fed me, I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.”
All food supplies are either donated to the Grimes Storehouse by individuals, local businesses, organizations, groups, and schools or purchased with monetary donations.
